Rules and Guidelines
Rider’s age is as of January 1
of the current year.
A negative Coggins test of the current year will be
required to show at HWSC.
Pony height to be 56” and under.
Ribbons are given through 6th place or optional dollar.
SEI/STM helmets are strongly recommended but not
required.
HWSC reserves the right to combine
classes in there are fewer than four entries.
Pattern Books are available for
purchase. These provide all patterns for the current show season.
Price for 2010 is $6 for members and $8 for non-members.
Classes must be entered at least 2
classes prior to the start of the added class.
HWSC is PAC approved
Each horse/rider team may compete
in only one division per show.
Jr. Horses are 5 years and under,
Sr. Horses are 6 years and over.
The Green Horse/Green Rider is a
walk/trot division for riders 10 and over. It is designed to
encourage riders that are not yet ready to lope or canter. It is
also for more experienced riders on young horses that are not yet
ready to lope or canter. We do not encourage green riders on green
horses. GH/GR exhibitors are prohibited from entering any
lope/canter classes.
Small Fry division is for
walk/trot riders 10 and under.
Small Fry and Green Horse/Green
Rider are not eligible for Championship riding classes.
Lead Line class is free, but
exhibitors must still enter, obtain a number and sign a waiver.
Anybody Wins Walk Trot may be
shown in casual attire.
Flying lead changes will not be
required in Western Riding.
The Lunge Line class will follow
NSBA rules except no warm-up time is allowed.
Lunge Line entries may show under
saddle but are limited to the Green Horse classes.
Sweepstakes trail needs to be entered before noon
and will be judged simultaneously with your age division pattern.
High Point & Reserve High Point
awards are given in the following divisions: 35 & over, 19-34,
14-18, 13 & under, Green Horse/Rider, Small Fry
Daily High Point awards are
calculated on a one horse/one rider basis.
Championship, Sweepstakes, and
Lunge Line do not count towards Daily High Points.
Exhibitors may enter more than one
halter class but only your best halter placing will count for Daily
High Point.
Each horse/rider team must use the
same back number all season in order for year end points to
accumulate.

required to be eligible for year end awards. See Membership
Application for details.
Members will only receive one year
end all around award per division.
Each horse/rider team must compete
in a minimum of three shows to be eligible for year end awards.
