Our August 27 show is now going to be Double
Judged! This will make up for the May show that had
to be cancelled due to rain.
Here are some common questions about how we
run a double judged show...
Q: Who are the judges?
A: Our judges will be
Jennifer McClelland, who was originally scheduled to
judge the August 27 show, and Kirsten Clemens, who was scheduled to
judge the May. We will also have two judges for the
trail classes.
Q: What will the class entry fees be?
A: The classes will all have double the entry fee. Regular
classes will be $8 for members and $10 for non-members; sweepstakes
classes will cost $10 for all riders. This will also affect
the blanket fees.
Q: How will classes be placed?
A: Each judge will place the classes separately, though a rider will
only compete in that class once (for example, only one showmanship
pattern per horse/rider team. That means two sets of ribbons
(or dollar coins) to those who place and double the points.
Q: What will the payouts be for sweepstakes
classes? And what about championship classes?
A: The payouts for sweepstakes classes will also be paid out for
the placings under Judge A and Judge B.
The championship classes will run as normal, with the first and
second place riders from the qualifying classes coming back.
There will be two champions and two reserve champions for each of
the championship classes, one for each of the judges.
Q: What about the daily hi-points?
A: There will be a daily hi-point for Judge A and Judge B.
Q: What about year end points?
A: There will double points for year end standings, too.
Q: What about the trail class?
A: There will be two judges for the trail classes and, again, two
separate placings.
In summary, this single day will count as two shows for HWSC.
Our two judges will place each class separately from one ride.
There will be two sets of everything. Two grand and reserve
champions for all our championship classes, two sets of daily hi
point and reserve high point winners, two sets of points for those
competing for year end awards, and of course two sets of ribbons or
dollar coins.
So "Come Show With Us" and double your fun!
